Ashton Quiller (Arkansas State University) drove in Davis Hamilton (University of Minnesota) to give Madison a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning, Dom Jacoby (University of Louisville) raced home on a wild pitch to extend the advantage to 2-0.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Madison starter Anthony Karbowski (University of Louisville) kept the Rafters off the board through the first five innings, finishing with a career-high nine strikeouts. In the bottom of the fifth, Preston Yaucher (Penn State University) doubled the Mallards&#8217; lead to 4-0 with a two-run home run.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Wisconsin Rapids chased Karbowski from the game in the sixth inning as its offense came to life. Bennett Crerar (Princeton University) delivered an RBI single to make it 4-1 before Aidan Thaxton (Butler University) ripped a two-run double later in the inning to cut the deficit to 4-3.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Mallards added an insurance run in the seventh on a Quiller sacrifice fly. The Rafters scored once in the ninth, but Chase Baker (Indiana State University) induced a game-ending 6-4-3 double play to preserve the 5-4 victory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Brayden Zilis (Illinois State University) was credited with the win for Madison, while Brennan Baker (Newberry College) took the loss for Wisconsin Rapids.
