After falling behind 2-0 in the first inning, the Mallards bats came alive as Madison crusaded to their fourth straight victory, a 10-4 win over the St. Cloud River Bats Saturday night. <\/p>\n

The Mallards posted five runs in the third inning before adding another two in the fourth to take a 7-2 lead. Madison would add more insurance in the seventh and eight innings as the Mallards scored in double digit runs for the first time in the second-half of the season.<\/p>\n

The Mallards collected nine hits over the course of the evening, all by different players. Kelly Sweppenhiser proved that he is over his injury after pacing the Mallards with three RBI, going one-for-two on the night. Abe Agurrie finished the night one-for-three with two runs scored and drilled his second home run of the season. Ryan Bond chipped in an RBI-triple and Dan Melvin provided the other extra base hit for Madison.<\/p>\n

After a rocky first inning, Mallards starter Rick Rivas found a groove and pitched six innings, allowing just two runs on for hits while striking out five. Rivas improves to 3-2 on the season with a 2.89 ERA.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
