After becoming the first Mallard alum to reach the Major leagues, Ryan Spilborghs returned to the Colorado Springs Sky Sox where he is hitting .305 with one home run and 11 RBI in just 21 games. Spilborghs went two-for-four July 16 in his Major League debut with the Colorado Rockies, collecting his first Major League RBI and run. The outfielder became the 23rd player from the Northwoods League to reach the majors.<\/p>\n

Here is a quick run down of some other Mallards alums who are contributing around throughout the minors.<\/p>\n

Javier Sanchez is fifth on the Beloit Snappers (A) with a .272 batting average. He has 50 hits despite playing in just 56 games.<\/p>\n

Tony Piazza is hitting .211 for St. Lucie of the Florida State League (A). The catcher has 12 hits and three doubles in 57 at-bats.<\/p>\n

Nathan Panther has blasted 11 home runs for the Kinston Indians (A) to go along with 34 RBI and a .248 batting average. <\/p>\n

Matt Pagnozzi got called up from the Palm Beach Cardinals (A) to Springfield (AA) and is two-for-seven with a run in three games.<\/p>\n

Matt Van Der Bosch is hitting .242 with four home runs and 17 RBI in the Carolina League with Single-A Wilmington.<\/p>\n

Left-hander Brady Endl is 5-7 with a 3.50 ERA in 18 starts for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (A). He has struck out 88 batters in 97.2 innings while walking just 55.<\/p>\n

Kyle Yates has been a solid starter for Dunedin (A) of the Florida State League, compiling a 3-2 record with a 2.65 ERA. He has 22 strike outs in 34 innings of work.<\/p>\n
