A night after being shut out in Wausau, the Mallards wasted little time getting revenge on the Wisconsin Woodchucks with a three-run first inning en route to a 4-2 win Monday night. <\/p>\n

The three Mallards runs were a result of sloppy play by the Woodchucks in the field as two of the three runs were unearned. Madison added another run in the ninth to solidify the victory and move into a tie with Wisconsin for second place in the second-half South Division race. Both Madison and Wisconsin are a game and a half behind first-place Rochester.<\/p>\n

Casey Baron gave up two runs in the third, but settled down and picked up his fourth win of the season. He threw five-and-one-third innings, yielding just four hits while striking out five.<\/p>\n

Ryan Rogowski finished the night three-for-five with a run scored, but it was Mike Rohde and Jordan Comadena who produced key hits. Both Rohde and Comadena contributed two RBI each for Madison.<\/p>\n

The Mallards are off on Tuesday before returning home for a three-game home stand starting Wednesday, August 3 at 7:05 against the Eau Claire Express.
