The Madison Mallards (16-10) are playing some of their best baseball of the year at the right time once again, taking home their fifth straight victory overall and second straight over the Wisconsin Woodchucks (14-12) with a 3-2 victory Saturday night. <\/p>\n

After falling behind 1-0 in the second inning, the Mallards responded with two runs in the sixth and a run in the seventh. Ryan Rogowski got the offense going with a single to lead off the sixth. The mid-season All-Star then proceeded to steal second and third base before scoring on a Dan Melvin infield single. Madison then managed to load the bases and scored their second run of the inning on an RBI groundout by Will Vogl.<\/p>\n

Ryan Rogowski added an RBI in the seventh after grounding out to score John Martin. <\/p>\n

Burke Baldwin (3-1) kept the Mallards in line for the victory all evening long, pitching six innings of six-hit ball. He allowed just one earned run, striking out five and walking one. <\/p>\n

The Woodchucks did threaten in the ninth, but Erik Walker got out of a two-out jam, picking up his fourth save of the season.<\/p>\n
