With only two games remaining in the NWL regular season, the Madison Mallards find themselves in a position where they can not control their own playoff destiny after falling 4-0 to the Rochester Honkers Friday night in Rochester.<\/p>\n

The Mallards are now one game behind the Honkers for first place in the second-half, and have identical records overall (42-24) with Rochester holding the tie-breaker for home field advantage with a better head-to-head record. Both teams are tied with Thunder Bay for the best overall record, making this weekend?s regular season finales crucial.<\/p>\n

The Mallards managed only five hits in Friday?s contest, as John Martin was the only Mallard to have a multi-hit game, going two-for-four with a double.<\/p>\n

Burke Baldwin suffered the loss for the Mallards, allowing three earned runs on seven hits in three innings of work.<\/p>\n

The Mallards return home Saturday to take on the Wisconsin Woodchucks at 6:05 p.m. Only individual reserved seats are available however, plenty of standing room only tickets are still available for the game.
