Famous Footwear and the Madison Mallards are pleased to announce that outfielder Spencer Steedley is the “Famous Footwear Mallards Player of the Week” for the week ending July 1.<\/p>\n

In all six games played by the Mallards over the week, Steedley hit for a .450 average ? nine hits in 20 at-bats ? and scored five runs while collecting seven RBI. <\/p>\n

On Thursday, June 29, as the designated hitter, Steedley drove in all four Mallards runs in front of a home crowd of 6,443 (pictured left). He went 2-4 at the plate with one run scored as he batted himself and two base runners in with a home run to the right field porch, putting the Mallards up 4-3 and securing the win over the Brainerd Blue Thunder.<\/p>\n

Over the week, the UNC-Charlotte junior hit 2-4 three different times, and 2-3 once. <\/p>\n

Each Sunday, the Mallards and Famous Footwear honor a current member of the Mallards as the “Famous Footwear Mallards Player of the Week.”<\/p>\n
