Famous Footwear and the Madison Mallards are proud to announce that Mallards pitcher Eryk McConnell is the latest ?Famous Footwear Mallards Player of the Week? for the week ending July 9.<\/p>\n

McConnell appeared in two games for Madison and earned two victories. The right hander pitched two innings of relief on July 3 in a 4-3 Mallards win in 12 innings at Mankato.<\/p>\n

July 7, McConnell made his first start at the Duck Pond, hurling 7.2 innings in a 2-0 win over the Eau Claire Express. The right-hander allowed just four hits and a walk to improve his season record to 3-1 and lower his ERA to 1.26.<\/p>\n

Tonight, July 9, the Mallards take on the Waterloo Bucks at 6:05 p.m. at the Duck Pond.<\/p>\n
