\n\t\"Reynolds,<\/a>Madison, WI – February 10, 2014.  The Madison Mallards are pleased to announce that former PA Announcer Rich Reynolds will return in the same role for the club in 2014.  <\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tReynolds was the voice at the “Duck Pond” from 2001-2004 and is the creator behind the phrase “wiener,” so commonly heard at Warner Park.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“It’s been almost ten years, and I couldn’t be happier to be a part of the Mallards organization again,” said Reynolds.  “Being part of the early days, I never imagined the organization would be what it is today.”<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tReynolds currently manages several bowling alleys in the area, and has been in the restaurant management industry since his first stint with the Mallards.  While with the Mallards, he had several sports talk radio shows on WTLX and WTDY.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tReynolds is one of the early contributors to creating the zany atmosphere that Mallards fans have grown accustomed to.  “We always had given out a free hot dog for any foul ball,” said Reynolds when asked about the “wiener” phrase.  “A wiener was what a foul ball was worth.  Every foul ball became wiener and it stuck!”<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen asked how his past experience with the team would help him in his return, Reynolds had a quick response.  “The familiar faces, the familiar ballpark and knowing the attitude of Conor and Vern (Mallards General Manager and Team President) is going to help a lot. It is an honor being back with the team, and something I always hoped for.  I am excited to be back.”<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Mallards will take on the Kalamazoo Growlers on opening night on Tuesday, May 27th<\/sup> at 7:05 pm.  Single game tickets will go on-sale on Saturday, April 26th<\/sup> at 9:00 am.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Madison Mallards are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Playing its 21st season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 115 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including MLB All-Stars Max Scherzer (DET), Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYY), Allen Craig (STL) and Ben Zobrist (TB).
