\n\tThe Madison Mallards (6-3) continued their offensive dominance tonight at the “Duck Pond” to win their third straight game in a row over the Kenosha Kingfish 12-1. Coming off a 8-0 rout of the Kingfish last night at Simmons Field in Kenosha, the Mallards bats remained hot tonight in Madison, scoring 12 runs on 14 hits.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tSecond baseman Robbie Tenerowicz (California) went 3-for-4, hitting two home runs and driving in five runs. Tenerowicz also homered last night versus the Kingfish, bringing his tally to three on the year. Designated hitter Spencer Blacksher (Southwest Baptist) continued his production at the plate tonight, going 3-5 with two singles and a double. Last night, Blacksher was 2-3 with one home run. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tMallards starting pitcher Alex Pondick (Montevallo) received the win to move to 1-1 on the year. Pondick pitched five innings, giving up no runs on five hits, walking three and striking out five Kingfish batters. He received solid relief pitching from Kirby Snead (Illinois) and Devon Over (Connecticut). Snead pitched two innings in relief, retiring all six batters he faced while Over finished the game for the Mallards, giving up one run on two hits.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tKingfish starter Zach Morgenstern (Augustana) lasted 4.2 innings, giving up six runs on ten hits, and walking one while striking out four to drop to 0-2. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Mallards return to the “Duck Pond” tomorrow night to wrap up their home-and-home series against the Kingfish. First pitch is slated for 7:05 pm. Tomorrow night is also Hispanic Heritage Night with a Cinco de Junio Celebration, as well as Maple Leaf Landscaping Night. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
