\n\tThe Madison Mallards host Ducktoberfest each year in early fall. This event is FREE and open to the public. Ducktoberfest will be held on October 4, 2014 from 1-6 pm.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tForecast for this afternoon are looking up. Come to the "Duck Pond" and enjoy BEER, coffee, hot chocolate, heated tents and plenty of German themed activities!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tDucktoberfest features a large variety of fall seasonal and German beers.  For $20 fans can purchase the Ducktoberfest Beer Tasting Package.  This package includes 12 tastings of beer, a commemorative 4 ounce tasting glass, and your choice of one German themed entree. \n\tMallards Executive Chef Tristan Straub will be creating classic German cuisine such as jaeger schnitzel with dill sour cream and sauerbraten with sweet and sour beef gravy.  Kids frankfurters (hot dogs) will also be available.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tTimeline of Events<\/span><\/strong>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t• <\/span><\/strong>1:00 – 3:00: Madison Brass Band<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t• 3:00: Dachshund Preliminary Rounds Begin<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t• 3:00 – 5:00: Bingo<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t• 3:30 – 5:30: The Rowe Brothers<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t• 5:30: Dachshund Races Final Heat<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tEvents Throughout the Day (1:00 – 6:00)<\/span><\/strong>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t• Petting Zoo\n<\/p>\n

\n\t• Axe Throwing\n<\/p>\n

\n\t• Hammerschlagen\n<\/p>\n

\n\t• Keg Toss\n<\/p>\n

\n\t• Hay Rides\n<\/p>\n

\n\t• Mallards Inflatables & Bobblehead Ring Toss\n<\/p>\n

\n\t• Crafts\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAlso available throughout the day for adults will be the German Home Run Competition with the winner taking home the grand prize of a case of Octoberfest Beer, a Mallards t-shirt, a Mallards mug and 4 Great Dane Duck Blind tickets.  This time trial competition will consist of the following:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t1) Each entry fee is $5 and each contestant will receive a Free Mallards hat.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t2) Contestant will start on home plate sprint to first base while carrying an empty keg.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t3) At first base the contestant will play one game of Hammerschlagen by poundng the entire nail into the log.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t4) After running to second base, the contestant will be met with a German sausage that they must consume prior to heading to third base.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t5) When they reach third base the contestant must drink one 16 ounce beer.  After consuming the beer the contestant will spint to home plate.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t6) Each contestant will be timed and the best time at the end of the event will be declared the winner. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAll attendees are encouraged to dress up in their vintage German attire to celebrate the beginning of fall. The Mallards will have a prize package for the best dressed! <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
