\n\tMadison, WI – July 19, 2014. A seven run fifth inning for the Kenosha Kingfish (11-8, 27-24) downed Madison Mallards (12-8, 30-23) tonight at Simmons Field by a final score of 11-4.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Mallards scored three runs in the second inning, aided by a two RBI single from left fielder Tyler Allen (Virginia). Allen finished 1-for-4 with two RBI. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThey would add one in the fifth inning before the Kingfish exploded in the bottom of the frame, scoring seven runs off three different Mallards pitchers. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tReceiving the loss was Mallards reliever Nate Hoffmann (Madison College), who gave up three runs on two hits in 0.1 innings of work. Hoffmann drops to 1-3 on the year after he was the first of three relievers to come on in the fifth. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tKingfish reliever Connor Kelly (Chandler-Gilbert CC) tossed one inning, giving up one run on two hits in the fifth to get the win. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Mallards stay in Kenosha tomorrow to wrap up their two game series against the Kingfish at 5:05 pm. After tomorrow, the Mallards are off for the Northwoods League All-Star Break until next Thursday, when they resume play in a home-and-home series against the Lakeshore Chinooks. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Mallards play one in Mequon on Thursday at 6:35 pm and return to the “Duck Pond” on Friday for a 7:05 pm game. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
