(June 21) <\/strong>– After one of their most remarkable comeback performances in recent memory Saturday night at the Duck Pond, the Madison Mallards (14-11) will eye their fifth consecutive victory Sunday afternoon against the Wisconsin Woodchucks (9-15) to conclude a three-game weekend home-stand.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tToday will feature Stoddard’s Country Grove Market Father’s Day Raffle and a Physicians Plus Mini Pennant Giveaway. First pitch is scheduled for 3:05 p.m.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tNate Hoffmann (Middle Tennessee State) will seek out his third quality start of the 2015 season as today’s starting pitcher for the Mallards. The 6-foot-2 right hander from Sun Prairie, Wis., tallied five strong innings with just one run allowed in Madison’s June 15 victory at Battle Creek, a performance that ran his record up to 2-0 and ERA down to 3.21 entering today’s contest. Through three outings, Hoffmann struts a 69 percent first-pitch strike rate and 7.1 K\/9 ratio.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tTo counter, the Woodchucks will call upon Simon Mathews (Georgetown) to douse Madison’s re-ignited lineup in his fourth start of the summer. Mathews, a 6-foot-2 right-handed pitcher originally from West Haven, Conn., stomached a losing decision on June 15 against the Green Bay Bullfrogs, a game in which he allowed two earned runs on 10 hits across six frames. Overall, the Georgetown product is 1-1 with a 2.84 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and strikeout-to-walk ratio of 8:1.\n<\/p>\n
