\n\t\"TheZone\"The Madison Mallards and Mid-West Family Broadcasting have agreed to a two year deal that will make Sports Station, The Zone (WOZN 106.7FM\/1670AM) the new home of play-by-play Mallards Baseball.  <\/font>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t <\/font>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“As a locally owned and operated radio broadcasting organization, we are thrilled to be able to partner with another locally owned, well known and fun entity, like the Mallards,” said Randy Hawke, Program Operations Manager for the Zone. “Anyone who has ever attended a Mallards game knows what great baseball is played and how much family fun there is at the ball park as well. We are extremely happy to be their radio home.”<\/font>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t <\/font>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe team has also announced that Max Baker will be the play-by-play announcer for the 2016 season. “It’s an incredible honor to be the voice of the Mallards, the premier organization in summer collegiate league baseball. I’m excited to help such a passionate group of fans connect with their favorite team,” said Baker.  Baker comes to the Mallards after working last season with the St. Cloud Rox, where he was voted the 2015 Northwoods League Announcer of the Year.  <\/font>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t <\/font>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“The Zone will be a great home for our fans to listen to Mallards baseball all summer long,” said Mallards General Manager Tyler Isham. “We are excited to start a great relationship with The Zone, and are thrilled to have Max calling games. His experience in the Northwoods League will help bring a great product to our broadcast.”<\/font>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Mallards open their season on the road in Battle Creek, as they take on the Bombers Tuesday May 31<\/font>st<\/font><\/sup>.  First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 pm.  The Mallards will host their home opener on Friday, June 3rd when they take on the new Northwoods League affiliate Rockford Rivets.   First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm.  Single-game tickets for the 2016 season are on sale now!<\/font>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Madison Mallards are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Playing its 23rd season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, 150 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (DET), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Lucas Duda (NYM) and Ben Zobrist (CHC).
