The Mallards (2-2, 25-15), coming on the heels of their 11-1 victory over the Wisconsin Woodchucks, will head to Kalamazoo, Michigan to take on the Kalamazoo Growlers (3-1, 23-17) in tonight’s contest. Madison racked up 16 hits in their win last night, scoring a season-high in runs. A team and an offense that is already carrying momentum will get big help from their pitching staff this evening, as Mitchell Kilkenny (Texas A&M) will take the hill for the Mallards.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tKilkenny has been sensational for the Mallards this summer ever since joining the team following a Super Regional run with the Aggies. Kilkenny is 2-0 with a 0.52 ERA, racking up 16 strikeouts in 17 innings of work. He leads the team in ERA, WHIP and BAA by a starting pitcher.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Mallards will be up against Kevin Marnon (Ball State), who has been solid in his own right for the Growlers in 2016. The left-hander is 2-3 with a 3.50 ERA, striking out 25 in 36 frames. Marnon was great in his last outing against the Rafters, allowing one run on four hits in six innings.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Mallards will be joined by a new player in the contest tonight, as Noah Cummings (Oral Roberts) will be traveling with the team on their way to Kalamazoo. A utility man that played mostly outfield for Oral Roberts, Cummings was First Team All-League as a sophomore, hitting .364 with six home runs and 44 RBIs a season ago.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe game tonight will get underway at 5:05 pm Central time from Homer Stryker Field in Kalamzoo, Michigan.\n<\/p>\n
