The Mallards (3-3, 26-16) will return to the Duck Pond on Tuesday night to take on the Kenosha Kingfish (2-4, 18-24) in their first matchup this summer. The game will be the first of a two-game series, with game two coming Wednesday night in Kenosha.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tMallards manager Donnie Scott will give the ball to right-hander Mike Byrne (Florida), who is ready for his second start of the 2016 season. Byrne pitched five scoreless innings as a reliever before making his first start against the Battle Creek Bombers on July 6th<\/sup>, where he allowed four earned runs in 2.1 innings of work. He will match up against a Kenosha team that hits .251 against right-handers and .270 on the road as a unit.\n<\/p>\n \n\tThe Kingfish will throw Grant Spranger (Southeastern CC) who will be making his second start of the 2016 campaign on Tuesday. The southpaw made his first appearance for Kenosha on July 6th<\/sup>, where he took the no-decision against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. He allowed no runs on three hits, three walks and three strikeouts in 3.2 frames. The first-place Rafters hit only .214 off of Spranger in the contest.\n<\/p>\n \n\tMadison will be coming off of their loss on Monday night to the Kalamazoo Growlers, who topped the Mallards by a score of 5-3 in Kalamazoo. The green and gold received two-hit nights from Nate Palace (Valparaiso) and Bryce Carter (Stanford), but weren’t able to hold on to the 3-1 lead they had after six innings.\n<\/p>\n \n\tTuesday’s contest will be the home debut for Noah Cummings (Oral Roberts) and Jesse Medrano (Fresno State), who both joined the team for the series in Kalamazoo. The Mallards will also be joined by Alex Lyons (Purdue), who arrived in Madison Tuesday afternoon.\n<\/p>\n \n\tTuesday’s game against the Kenosha Kingfish will get underway at 7:05 pm from the Duck Pond at Warner Park. The contest will feature a Zimbrick Honda Lego giveaway. It will also be Agriculture Appreciation Night, South Central Library System Night and Children's Theatre of Madison Night.
