After downing the Kenosha Kingfish (3-8, 19-28) by a score of 2-1 on Saturday night, the Mallards (6-5, 29-18) will try and sweep the Kingfish in this two-game set on Sunday night, as well as stay a perfect 4-0 against Kenosha this summer. All three meetings between these two clubs have come in the second half, with Madison outscoring Kenosha 16-2 in those games.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Mallards will have Mitchell Kilkenny (Texas A&M) on the mound in Sunday’s contest, as the right-hander has been undoubtedly one of the best pitchers in the Northwoods League this summer. Kilkenny is 3-0 on the year, posting a 0.37 ERA and only three walks in 24 innings of work. Kilkenny has 22 strikeouts and a WHIP of 0.83.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tKenosha will throw Rhett Rapshus (Illinois State) against the Mallards, who is the owner of a 2.07 ERA and two strikeouts in 4.1 frames. The right-hander has made one start and one relief appearance for the Kingfish, failing to earn a decision this summer.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tMadison has been getting superb performances from a few guys in their lineup over the past few games, with Nelson Maldonado (Florida), Nate Palace (Valparaiso) and Noah Cummings (Oral Roberts) all hitting over .300 in their past five outings. The pitching staff has also given the Mallards a big boost, as they’ve posted a 2.45 ERA across the last ten games. This great overall play has lifted Madison to a 6-5 record in the second half, two games out of first place. They still hold the second-best overall record in the South division as well.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tTonight’s game against the Kenosha Kingfish will get underway at 4:05 pm from the Duck Pond at Warner Park. The contest will feature a Festival Foods Dancing Rick bobblehead giveaway. It will also be Public Safety Appreciation Night and Rayovac Night.
