Looking to keep pace in a tight South division battle, the Mallards (9-10, 32-23) will take on the Green Bay Bullfrogs (12-7, 27-28) on Friday night. Madison currently sits at seventh place in the division in the second half, but is only three and a half games out of the top spot.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tMike Byrne (Florida) will get the ball for Madison, with the right-hander currently owning a 1-1 record with a 4.50 ERA. Byrne will be making his sixth appearance and third start of the summer, as he is set to face the Bullfrogs for the first time in 2016. Opponents are only hitting .238 against Byrne this year.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tGreen Bay will send a right-hander of their own to the hill, as Harrisen Egly (Columbia) is set to pitch. Egly is 4-2 with a 3.27 earned run average, having made three starts across 18 appearances this summer. Egly has faced Madison three times out of the bullpen in 2016, pitching 2.2 innings and allowing three earned runs on eight hits in those appearances. The 6’4” hurler has struck out 35 batters in 33 innings of work for the Bullfrogs.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tMadison will look to regain some offensive rhythm in the contest, as they’ve followed their 15-run outburst with two consecutive scoreless outings. Nate Palace (Valparaiso) continues to swing a hot bat for the Mallards, as he’s hitting .333 with three long balls and seven RBIs in his last five games. Nico Hoerner (Stanford) and Nick Roark (Oral Roberts) have also been tearing the cover off the ball in their last five contests, as they’re hitting .381 and .385, respectively.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tFriday’s game against the Green Bay Bullfrogs will get underway from the Duck Pond at 7:05 pm. It will be Endres Manufacturing Night at the ballpark.
