Having scored 25 runs in their three-game home sweep of the Green Bay Bullfrogs, the Mallards (12-10, 34-23) are set to take on the Rockford Rivets (11-11, 28-30) in a home-and-home doubleheader on Monday. Game one will take place at the Duck Pond with the two teams traveling down to Rockford for the nightcap.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tHeath Renz (UW-Whitewater) will matchup against the Rivets in game one, having pitched his best game of the season against Rockford back on June 29th<\/sup>. The right-hander worked seven complete innings, allowing one run on six hits with five strikeouts. In 2016, Renz is 3-0 with a 2.13 ERA, acting as a major piece of the Mallards rotation.\n<\/p>\n \n\tZach Airing (St. Joseph’s) will get the ball for Rockford in the morning contest, set to make his tenth start of the summer. Airing currently sits at a 2-2 record with a 4.71 earned run average, having struck out 39 batters in 42.0 innings of work. The right-hander allowed more runs in his last start than he did in his previous four starts combined, conceding six runs on nine hits in five frames in a loss to the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters.\n<\/p>\n \n\tWestin Wuethrich (Washington) will start the evening game for the Mallards. In his only previous start against the Rivets, Wuethrich allowed four runs on seven hits in five innings, taking the loss. Rockford’s starter for game two is to be determined.\n<\/p>\n \n\tMonday’s contest against the Rockford Rivets is set to get underway from the Duck Pond at Warner Park at 11:35 am.
