Mankato Softball Welcomes Local Softball Legend as New Head Coach<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

MANKATO, MN. <\/strong>\u2013 <\/strong>Mankato Softball is thrilled to announce the appointment of Coley Ries Welter <\/em>as the new head coach for the upcoming season. A local softball luminary, Ries Welter<\/em> brings a wealth of experience and an illustrious track record in the softball community, both locally and nationally.<\/p>\n

Currently serving as the head coach for the Gustavus Softball program, Ries Welter<\/em> has been a driving force in the development of softball in our area and across the nation.<\/p>\n

Before making her mark in the coaching realm, Ries Welter <\/em>had a remarkable playing career. Her journey includes clinching a national championship in 2017, a testament to her dedication and prowess in the sport. She played professionally for esteemed teams such as the Texas Charge, Chicago Bandits, and the Aussie Spirits, showcasing her exceptional skills and commitment to the game at the highest level.<\/p>\n

Ries Welter<\/em>‘s academic background is equally impressive, holding a bachelor\u2019s degree in mass media and a master\u2019s in education leadership. Her passion for education and leadership aligns seamlessly with the values of our Mankato Softball<\/em>, emphasizing the holistic development of our players on and off the field.<\/p>\n

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Ries<\/em> to our Mankato Softball<\/em> family,” said Caleb Chapman, General Manager<\/em> of the team. “Her proven track record as both a player and a coach, coupled with her commitment to education, makes her the perfect fit for our program. We believe her expertise will elevate our team to new heights, and we can’t wait to see the positive impact she will undoubtedly have on our players.”<\/p>\n

Ries Welter<\/em>‘s appointment signals an exciting new chapter for Mankato Softball<\/em>, and we look forward to a successful and inspiring season under her leadership.<\/p>\n

Leveraging the 30-year success of the Northwoods League, the first for-profit Summer Collegiate Baseball League, Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) will be the first for-profit Women\u2019s Summer Collegiate Softball League beginning play in the Upper Midwest in the summer of 2024.\u00a0 The purpose of the League will be to develop players for their college, Olympic and future professional play.\u00a0 Teams will be promoted similar to minor league baseball teams, playing games in front of fans in a fun, friendly, family-oriented environment.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
