{"id":35294,"date":"2026-07-14T20:43:42","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T01:43:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/mankato-habaneros\/?p=35294"},"modified":"2026-07-14T20:43:55","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T01:43:55","slug":"habaneros-win-third-straight-game-against-ignite","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/mankato-habaneros\/2026\/07\/14\/habaneros-win-third-straight-game-against-ignite\/","title":{"rendered":"Habaneros Win Third Straight Game Against Ignite"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>MANKATO, MINN. \u2013<\/strong> The Habaneros took to ISG Field tonight for another matchup against the Wausau Ignite.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">It was a scoreless first inning, with Katy Olive (Miami University, Ohio) hitting a solo homerun to put the Habaneros up 1-0 in the second.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Mia Johnson (Wisconsin-Parkside) followed that up for Wausau, hitting a solo homerun of her own to tie it 1-1 the following inning.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Olive hit an RBI double in the same inning to help push Mankato ahead 3-1 at the conclusion of the third.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The fourth inning advanced Mankato\u2019s lead further. Ava Parent (University of Wisconsin) hit a sacrifice fly to allow Marleigh Louvar (University of St. Thomas) to score.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Joscelyn Bennett (Southwest Baptist University) scored another run for the Habaneros on a wild pitch to go up 5-1.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Ava McKee (Bowling Green State University) added another run via a sacrifice fly, allowing Olive to score. The Habaneros led 6-1 at the end of the fifth.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Wausau was held scoreless for the remainder of the game, giving Mankato a 6-1 final score victory.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Habaneros will return to action on Saturday, July 18, against the Grand Forks Spitfires. That game will be hosted at ISG Field beginning at 6:35 p.m.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: center\">###<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Leveraging the 32-year success of the Northwoods League, the first for-profit Summer Collegiate Baseball League, Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) is the first for-profit Women\u2019s Summer Collegiate Softball League that began play in the Upper Midwest in the summer of 2024.\u00a0 The purpose of the League will be to develop players for their college, Olympic and future professional play.\u00a0 Teams will be promoted similar to minor league baseball teams, playing games in front of fans in a fun, friendly, family-oriented environment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANKATO, MINN. \u2013 The Habaneros took to ISG Field tonight for another matchup against the Wausau Ignite.
