{"id":15991,"date":"2023-07-28T21:25:08","date_gmt":"2023-07-29T02:25:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/mankato-moondogs\/?p=15991"},"modified":"2023-07-28T21:25:08","modified_gmt":"2023-07-29T02:25:08","slug":"dogs-drop-2-in-la-crosse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/mankato-moondogs\/2023\/07\/28\/dogs-drop-2-in-la-crosse\/","title":{"rendered":"Dogs Drop 2 in La Crosse"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The MoonDogs would look to end the last road trip before the All-Star break on a high note with a win over the Loggers.<\/p>\n<p>Loggers would strike first and often with the MoonDogs giving up runs in the first three innings and falling behind by nine.<\/p>\n<p>MoonDogs would clean things up at that point keeping the Loggers off the board for the rest of the game getting strong innings from <a href=\"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/mankato-moondogs\/player\/?id=6345\">Breck Bradshaw<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/mankato-moondogs\/player\/?id=5730\">Kobe Lovell<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>MoonDogs would get some life in the eighth inning with Kai Roberts getting home after a hit by pitch got him on board and a single from <a href=\"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/mankato-moondogs\/player\/?id=5125\">Brendan Hord<\/a> pushed him around. The ninth inning would get see the MoonDogs put up one last fight to get into the game when <a href=\"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/mankato-moondogs\/player\/?id=6308\">Ty Rumsey<\/a> hammered one deep for a two-run home run.<\/p>\n<p>The MoonDogs would fall 9-3 to the Loggers with two more games to play before the All-Star break. The MoonDogs and Loggers will face off again tomorrow at ISG Field with a first itch at 6:35 P.M.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>The Mankato MoonDogs are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. The Northwoods League is the proven leader in the development of elite college baseball players. Now in its\u2019 30<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0season, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 24 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires, and front office staff, over 325 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time All-Star and 2016 Roberto Clemente Award winner Curtis Granderson, three-time Cy Young Award winner and World Series Champion Max Scherzer (NYM), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist and Brandon Crawford (SFG) and World Series Champion Chris Sale (BOS). As well as 2019 Rookie of the Year and 2019\/2021 Home Run Derby Champion Pete Alonso (NYM) and 2021 All-Star, MLB Gold Glove winner and 2019 Second Team All-MLB shortstop Marcus Semien (TEX).
