{"id":17449,"date":"2026-07-12T20:21:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-13T01:21:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/mankato-moondogs\/?p=17449"},"modified":"2026-07-12T20:21:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-13T01:21:09","slug":"moondogs-give-up-first-game-of-series-to-big-sticks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/mankato-moondogs\/2026\/07\/12\/moondogs-give-up-first-game-of-series-to-big-sticks\/","title":{"rendered":"MoonDogs give up first game of series to Big Sticks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>DICKINSON, N.D. \u2013<\/strong> The MoonDogs traveled to Dickinson for the first game of a series against the Badlands Big Sticks.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Big Sticks kicked things off in the third inning, scoring two runs to take the lead.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">They would further their lead with two more runs scored in the fourth, now ahead 4-0.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The MoonDogs and Big Sticks would both be held scoreless for the fifth and sixth innings.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Kyle Hvidsten (Liberty University) would hit a solo home run in the seventh to get Mankato on the board, now 4-1.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Big Sticks further their lead, scoring one run off of a ground out play and another off of a stolen base. The score would be 6-1.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This would be the final score of the game.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The MoonDogs will be back at Dakota Community Bank and Trust Ballpark to take on the Big Sticks tomorrow. The first pitch is at 6:35 pm Mountain Time.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: center\">###<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Northwoods League is the proven leader in developing elite college baseball players.
