{"id":17451,"date":"2026-07-13T23:09:42","date_gmt":"2026-07-14T04:09:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/mankato-moondogs\/?p=17451"},"modified":"2026-07-13T23:10:38","modified_gmt":"2026-07-14T04:10:38","slug":"moondogs-win-big-in-second-game-of-series-with-big-sticks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/mankato-moondogs\/2026\/07\/13\/moondogs-win-big-in-second-game-of-series-with-big-sticks\/","title":{"rendered":"MoonDogs win big in second game of series with Big Sticks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>DICKINSON, N.D. \u2013<\/strong> The MoonDogs faced off against the Badlands Big Sticks for the second straight night.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Big Sticks scored first, taking an early 1-0 lead in the first inning.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The MoonDogs were scoreless until the third inning, where Cole Clark (UC-Irvine) scored on an error by the Badlands.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Back-to-back RBI singles by Liam Ebbs (Wofford College) and Kyle Hvidsten (Liberty University) helped the MoonDogs extend their lead. Mankato scored five runs in the bottom of the third.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Badlands added another run in the bottom of the inning, making the score 5-2 in favor of the MoonDogs.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Clark recorded a home run in both the fourth and fifth innings, while Badlands added one run in each inning as well. This gave the MoonDogs a 7-3 lead.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The MoonDogs continued to surge ahead, adding eight total runs in the seventh inning.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Mankato held the Badlands scoreless for the remainder of the game, winning with a final score of 15-3.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The MoonDogs will be back in action tomorrow, as they travel to St. Cloud to take on the Rox. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: center\">###<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Northwoods League is the proven leader in developing elite college baseball players.
