\nFacing St. Cloud for the last time this season, MoonDogs starter Brent Jackson looked to leave a bitter taste in the mouths of River Bats fans. He did just that through 7.2 innings. He showed masterful control as he struck out 7 and scattered 7 hits in the process. <\/p>\n

However near the end of the game, with the Bats still "hanging around,\u201d reliever Philip Springman was called upon to get the "Dogs out of a jam. He did and the MoonDogs took a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the ninth.<\/p>\n

The lone run of the game came off the bat of Jeremiah Piepkorn, whose double in the third, scored Ryan Chiarelli. That double gave Piepkorn the league lead in RBI at 47, the league lead in hits, 70, and put him in second for extra base hits at 23 on the season.<\/p>\n

In the bottom of the ninth, an infield single with the bases loaded, knotted the game at 1-1. Then a misplayed ball allowed the winning run to cross the plate.<\/p>\n

The MoonDogs move to 26-31 on the season and are still in the playoff hunt, just 3.5 games back. They start their run tonight, with a doubleheader against Madison. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:05 pm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
