After the MoonDogs won Monday night 13-5, the Huskies didn\u2019t think kindly and showed why they are leading the North Division by beating Mankato, 8-1. <\/p>\n

Duluth picked up an early run in the top of the first inning and scored another run in the third to take a 2-0 lead. <\/p>\n

MoonDogs starter, Justin Garcia, seemed to have the game in control after giving up the early 2 runs, but Duluth turned it on in the sixth inning, as they scored 5 times to take a 7-0 lead. <\/p>\n

Duluth scored one more run in the seventh to finish their scoring for the night. <\/p>\n

Mankato continued to battle and break up the shut-out, and in the bottom of the eighth they did just that, as Ryan Chiarelli scampered around the bases from first base on Aaron Grant\u2019s double to right center.<\/p>\n

The Huskies rode the arm of Doug Mathis, who shut down the MoonDogs for seven innings, allowing no runs on 5 hits, walking none and fanning 10 batters. Mathis picked up his third win on the season, improving his record to 3-1. <\/p>\n

Garcia was tagged with his fifth loss of the season, dropping his record to 4-5.<\/p>\n

Aaron Grant continued his hot hitting of late for the MoonDogs, finishing 3-4 with 2 doubles and 1 RBI.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
