Friday Night, the MoonDogs squared off in a rematch with the Thunder Bay Border Cats and they came up just short as they dropped the game 5-2.<\/p>\n
Falling behind 1-0 after 1 inning, the \u2019Dogs and Cats started a pitchers duel for the next 4 innings with neither team allowing a run. Then in the sixth, the MoonDogs tied the game in the their half the inning, only to surrender 2 more runs to the Cats in the bottom half.<\/p>\n
The MoonDogs would respond with a run of their own in the seventh, but the Border Cats responded once again, with a pair of runs. Those runs turned out to be the knock out punch for the game, as the scoring ended there with the Border Cats on top.<\/p>\n
Leadoff man Ryan Chiarelli found his swing going 2-3 in the game and scoring a run.<\/p>\n
Leaving from Thunder Bay early Saturday morning, the MoonDogs made the nearly 7-hour trip to St. Cloud for a 3:05 game, Saturday afternoon. Cole DeVries got the nod from Coach Rupert, to try and avenge a loss from earlier in the season at St. Cloud.<\/p>\n
In an all to familiar scene, the MoonDogs fell behind in the first inning of Saturday\u2019s game and were unable overcome the deficit. In the middle innings, the \u2019Dogs showed their resilience as they scored one run in each the fourth and fifth innings, but once again came up short, falling 6-2 to the River Bats.<\/p>\n
Aaron Grant and Tony Gonzalez were each 2-4 with a RBI in the game. The MoonDogs finish their road trip today in St. Cloud, before returning home Monday for Minnesota Twins night presented by Jakes Stadium Pizza. <\/p>\n
Twins outfielder Lew Ford will be on hand, signing autographs from 6-7 p.m. and throwing out the ceremonial first pitch. The first 250 kids at the Frank on Monday night will receive a FREE Twins super hero doll. TC Bear and Wally "The Beerman\u201d will also be on hand for the entire game. <\/p>\n
