Mankato held a comfortable 10-3 lead, but disaster struck in the worst way for the MoonDogs, as Alexandria stormed back from a 7 run deficit to score 8 runs in the top of the seventh inning to take the lead and the game, 11-10. <\/p>\n

Alexandria starting pitcher, Mike Krebs, had a tough time getting outs against the \u2018Dogs offense. Mankato touched him up for 3 runs in the second and 4 more runs in the third to take a 7-2 lead. However, the MoonDogs weren\u2019t done scoring just yet, putting up another 3 runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a commanding 10-2 lead. <\/p>\n

The Beetles got a run in each the second, third and fifth inning. Skyler Young, who started on the hill for the MoonDogs, seemed to be in control with the 7 run lead, but Alexandria thought otherwise, as their offense came alive in the top of the seventh. <\/p>\n

Mankato\u2019s 7 run lead slowly dissipated and the Beetles continued to chip away at the lead. After the Beetles finished hitting in the seventh, they came all the way back to take the lead for good. <\/p>\n

Alexandria was led by Baron Frost, who finished 4-5 with 2 home runs, a double, 2 runs scored and 5 RBI.<\/p>\n

A great crowd of 1,272 at "The Frank" witnessed six MoonDogs players with 2 or more hits in the contest. Grant Rembert finished 3-4 with a home run, 1 double, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI, while Tony Gonzalez went 2-4 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
