Rodebaugh Powers ‘Dogs in Game 1

The MoonDogs traveled to Dick Putz field in St. Cloud on Tuesday to take on the North Division\u2019s first half champions, the River Bats in game one of a double header. Not only were the MoonDogs looking to end a four game skid, but also make history and win for the first time ever at Dick Putz field. With the help of Robert Rodebaugh, who came just a triple shy of hitting for the cycle, the MoonDogs went into St. Cloud and defeated the River Bats 9-4.<\/p>\n
After St. Cloud jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, it was the MoonDogs turn to put some runs on the board. Rodebaugh followed a Michael Jenkins single with a homerun to cut the lead to 3-2. The River Bats then came back in the bottom of the second and scored one more run to extend their lead to 4-2, but that\u2019s all the offense the River Bat\u2019s would be able to produce as pitchers Mike Miller and Kevin Regan pitched the final four innings, completely shutting down the River Bats.<\/p>\n
The MoonDogs on the other hand, put on a clinic for the River Bats as they scored seven more runs to take a commanding 9-4 lead to deal the River Bats their 13th loss in the second half and gain their first win ever in St. Cloud.<\/p>\n
Rodebaugh finished the night going a perfect 3-3 including a homerun and a double, with 3 runs scored, 3 RBI, and 2 walks. Jenkins also helped lead the MoonDogs charge going 3-4 with two runs scored.<\/p>\n
Working in two innings, Miller picked up his first Northwoods League win of his career. Regan\u2019s outing marks his 28th appearance, the most of any pitcher in the NWL.<\/p>\n
