\n\tMANKATO-Minn. The Mankato MoonDogs Baseball Club, a member of the Northwoods League is excited to announce the commitment of pitcher Trey Cobb for the 2014 MoonDogs season.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tCobb, a six-foot-one-inch, 190-pound freshman is the fourth player from Oklahoma State University to join the MoonDogs this year. This spring, Cobb has a 3.70 ERA in 14 appearances. He has given up 10 earned runs in 24.1 innings pitched, striking out 24 and walking 11.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tAt Broken Arrow high school, Cobb was named to the 2013 All-West Region first team by Perfect Game. He went 11-2 with a 1.05 ERA and 87 strikeouts as a senior. He was part of championship, runner-up, and state semifinal teams at Broken Arrow. As a junior, he went 10-2 on the mound with 88 strikeouts. He also hit .317 with 22 RBI’s at the plate.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tCobb, a right hander, was a 2012 Perfect Game Underclassman All American second team member and decided to go to Oklahoma State over other schools that recruited him such as LSU, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Arizona, Stanford, Florida, Miami, and Wichita State.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tComing into his freshman year at OSU, Perfect Game USA stated that that Cobb has a quick, compact arm that hides the ball well. He has a steady 88-90 mph fastball and maintains velocity from the stretch. He varies his speed on the curveball and has a good feel for the change up.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tCobb is majoring in sports media and both of his parents attended Oklahoma State. His grandfather, Frank Linzy, played 10 seasons in Major League Baseball.\n<\/p>\n
