\n\tWILLMAR, MN- Boomer Synek lead the Mankato MoonDogs with two hits, but that wouldn’t be enough as the Willmar Stingers down the MoonDogs, 7-3 at Bill Taunton Stadium on Monday night.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tMankato MoonDogs’ (2-5) shortstop Craig Nennig (1-for-3, 2 RBIs) would hit a sacrifice fly in the eight inning with the bases loaded to put Mankato within striking distance. With two outs, Kyle Weston stepped to the plate while Jack Czeszewski and Boomer Synek occupied first and second bases. Weston would hit into a fielders choice to end the inning, as well as the MoonDogs threat. The Willmar Stingers (3-3)\n<\/p>\n
\n\t would sit down Mankato in order to end the game in the 9th, winning 7-3.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe only other inning Mankato was able to muster any run support was back in the first inning, when Boomer Synek singled in leadoff hitter Jack Flansburg, and Criag Nennig brought Synek home later in the inning.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tAfter that, it was all Willmar. The Stingers would manage to compile seven runs on 10 hits with one error for the game while receiving lights-out pitching from Jonny Ortiz (1-0) for the second time this season. Ortiz would pitch 7.0 innings while allowing two Mankato runs on five hits with two walks and a strikeout.\n<\/p>\n
\n\t \n<\/p>\n
\n\tOrtiz notched the win for Willmar, while the loss would rest on Connor O’neil. After a very strong start in Waterloo last week, O’neil allowed six runs, five earned, on seven hits and three walks. He also had six strikeouts. O’neil’s ERA has officially ballooned up to 6.10 after the loss.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tKy Parrott had a stellar game for the Stingers as he would go 2-for-3 with two hits, two runs, and three RBIs, a game high.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe MoonDogs will head home on Tuesday for their second game against the Rochester Honkers at Franklin Rogers Park with the promotion being Dollar Dog Night!\n<\/p>\n
