\n\tEau Claire, WI – The MoonDogs were involved in yet another walk-off, with the Express getting the 5-4 victory thanks to a two out base hit in the ninth inning to sweep Mankato on Wednesday night at Carson Park.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tIn the bottom of the ninth inning, the Eau Claire Express (6-8, 19-29) sent Dalton Varsho who doubled with one out to put himself in scoring position. After moving to third on a fielder’s choice that Tyler Adkison reached on, Varsho would come around to score on a two out walk-off single to clinch the game for the Express over the Mankato MoonDogs (5-9,23-27), 5-4.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tMankato tied the game back in the seventh inning when Kyle Weston’s sacrifice fly allowed Mikel Mucha to score, making the score 4-4. Just a half inning before, Eau Claire would score four runs to take the lead from the MoonDogs, who had built up a 3-0 lead over the first five innings of play.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tMikel Mucha would finish the game going 2-for-5 at the plate with two runs scored for the MoonDogs, while Travon Benton was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored for the Express.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tChris Butcher (3-2) was charged with the loss for Mankato, appearing in both games played at Eau Claire this road trip for the MoonDogs. Butcher would pitch 1 2\/3 innings, allowing one run on two hits while walking three. Trent Shelton (1-2) picked up his first win of the season, lasting five innings while allowing two runs on four hits while striking out four.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tMankato will head home for two games against the Duluth Huskies starting Thursday, first pitch at 7:05 PM on the Fan Mankato.\n<\/p>\n
