\n\tEau Claire, WI — <\/em>David Metzgar homered during a perfect night at the plate for the Mankato MoonDogs, helping propel them to a 9-4 win against the Eau Claire Express to complete the two-game sweep at Carson Park on Sunday night.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tDavid Metzgar (Cal State Bakersfield) drove in four runs for the MoonDogs while scoring two and going a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate. Metzgar clubbed a two-run home run in the top of the third inning against Eau Claire starter Brody Rodning, who ended up with a no decision on the night. Reece Eddins earned the win for Mankato.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tMankato got out to an early lead in the first inning, with Metzgar driving in Jake Shepski (Notre Dame) to put the visitors up 1-0. Metzgar's homer in the top of the third put the 'Dogs up 3-0, until Daulton Varsho singled home Cody Bohanek making it 3-1.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe MoonDogs scored another run in the fifth, with Marcus Pingleton (Heartland Community College) hitting a sac fly to bring home Alvaro Rubalcaba (Cal State Northridge), but Eau Claire tied the game up in the bottom half of the inning, scoring three runs to push the score to four all. \n<\/p>\n

\n\tMankato broke through during the next half inning, scoring three runs in the sixth to pull ahead 7-4. They would add two more in the eighth to get to the final tally, 9-4.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe MoonDogs take their two-game winning streak to Willmar on Monday, playing a double-header agains the Stingers starting at 6:05 PM. Gabe Constantine will take the mound in game one, getting his third shot at Willmar this season. \n<\/p>\n
