\n\tBISMARCK- N.D. Micah Beyer struck out 14 and the Bismarck Larks defeated the Mankato MoonDogs for the second game in a row 3-0 on Thursday night at Municipal Ballpark. The Larks scored all three of their runs in the bottom of the third inning against MoonDogs starting pitcher Brett Newberg. Quinn Irey led off with a double and after a ground ball advanced Irey to third, Mitch Gallager singled to left field to bring in the Larks first run. Ryan Anderson followed Gallager with a towering home run to right field to bring the total to three.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter the third, neither team managed to put another run across. Nick Boyles came in to pitch the ninth and picked up the save after striking out the side. Micah Beyer got the win for Bismarck, going 8.0 innings and allowing 4 hits, 0 runs, walking 2 and striking out 14. He was named Northwoods League pitcher of the night for his strong effort. Brett Newberg took the loss for the MoonDogs, allowing 3 earned runs on 4 hits through 7.0 innings. He walked 1 and struck out 9. The MoonDogs (10-12) have lost the first two games of the four game series against the Bismarck Larks (12-12) and return home tomorrow for game three at Franklin Rogers Park in Mankato.
