Mankato, MN–\u00a0 The Mankato MoonDogs are bringing a few familiar faces back for the 2019 season.\u00a0 Jimmy Larson, Jacob Nagel, Jon Ludwig, and Nick Novak will be teammates once again when the MoonDogs kick off their upcoming season on May 28.<\/p>\n

Larson, a redshirt sophomore who will be traveling all the way across town from Minnesota State University, Mankato, joined the squad in late July last summer, but made an immediate impact. The right-handed pitcher posted a 0.75 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 12 innings of work.<\/p>\n

Nagel, a sophomore out of Bellarmine University, appeared in seven games the MoonDogs last season as a right-handed pitcher, coming away with a 2-2 record and a 3.25 ERA.\u00a0 He finished his season with 19 strikeouts in 19.1 innings.<\/p>\n

Ludwig, another MSU Maverick and a redshirt junior, earned an All-Star selection in 2018 for the MoonDogs.\u00a0 The right-handed pitcher accumulated 46 strikeouts over the course of 41.1 innings, as well as a 4-2 record and a 3.04 ERA.<\/p>\n

Novak, a junior shortstop from Angelo State, hopes to have another solid season as a MoonDog.\u00a0 Seemingly always on base, Novak racked up 72 hits over the course of the season, adding 14 stolen bases and finishing with a batting average of exactly .300.<\/p>\n
