Mankato, Minn. — <\/strong>The Mankato MoonDogs are bringing in four more exciting players to add to the stacked 2019 roster including a right-handed pitcher, an outfielder, a third baseman and a utility player. Trent Baker will be on the bump for the MoonDogs, Tyler Casagrande will play center or right field, Jake Moberg will man the hot corner, while Justin Mazzone can catch and play the infield or outfield.<\/p>\n

Trent Baker \u2013 Angelo State University<\/strong><\/p>\n

The sophomore right-hander from Georgetown, Texas will join teammate Carson Childers on the 2019 MoonDogs squad. Baker is having a solid second season with the Rams as he holds a 7-1 record in 12 appearances with a 3.65 ERA. So far on the season, Baker has struck out 48 and walked 18 batters for nearly a 3:1 strikeout-to-walk paper. His best start on the season came on Feb. 8 against Texas A&M International where he went seven innings, only allowing a hit and three walks, while striking out four.<\/p>\n

Tyler Casagrande \u2013 University of Arizona<\/strong><\/p>\n

The freshman Wildcat will play for the MoonDogs in his first collegiate summer baseball experience. In his first season, Casagrande has played in 18 games for Arizona and got his first start on March 8 against College of Charelston. He picked up his first career collegiate hit on Feb. 27 against New Mexico for a single.<\/p>\n

Justin Mazzone \u2013 Seattle University<\/strong><\/p>\n

The sophomore backstop is in his second year for the Redhawks and has played 87 games so far in his career. In his first season with the Redhawks, Mazzone had the sixth-best batting average in school history with a .339 clip. This season he is tied for the team lead with five home runs and has the second-most RBI on the team with 26.<\/p>\n

Jake Moberg \u2013 UCLA<\/strong><\/p>\n

A freshman out of Murrieta, California will play the infield for the MoonDogs this summer after playing his first collegiate season with the current No. 1 Bruins. Moberg has appeared in nine games for UCLA, but played for the Yakima Valley Pippins in the West Coast League. In the WCL, Moberg hit .287 on his way to the WCL All-Star game and to an All-WCL honorable mention selection.<\/p>\n

The MoonDogs begin the season with a home game against the Willmar Stingers on Tuesday, May 28, with first pitch scheduled at 7:05 pm.<\/p>\n
