Mankato, Minn<\/b>–<\/span> Mankato is ecstatic to welcome three more MoonDogs to the team! Two pitchers in Michael Lozano and Ashton Wetzlter. Along with a back stop from San Diego in Ariel Armas!<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Michael Lozano<\/b><\/p>\n

Give a warm MoonDogs welcome to the right handed pitching Michael Lazano. Michael is as interesting off the field, as he is on. Micheal has an interest in Hurricanes, and weather! While also having aspirations of owning a property management business! A young man who succeeds in every facet of life. On the field Micahael is having a good season at Hope International University. Pitching very well. Last year, he finished with 19 strikeouts in 8 appearances!\u00a0 He is going to be fun to see on the Bump for the \u2018Dogs this season!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Ashton Wetzler<\/b><\/p>\n

Another pitcher from the opposite side of the states is Ashton Wetzler. Ashton is from Seton Hill University, and throws a mean fastball for the Griffins. He is getting a ton more appearances this season because of his 2021 where he had a 1.50 ERA! He was fanning batters on the mound wherever he had the chance! He is always working on his game as he has put on at least 5 pounds of muscle in between each off-season! After his season with Seton Hill, we will have the pleasure of seeing him working hard at ISG Field!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Ariel Armas<\/b><\/p>\n

Ariel Armas will have a good chance at being the backstop for the MoonDogs in this upcoming season! Armas has an absolute hose behind the dish, which has been on display this season for the University of San Diego. He has gunned out 4 runners this season already! Ariel, like most of these guys have had a passion for baseball their entire lives, but not many of them can say that they compete in the Little League World Series! Ariel did it back in 2015! We\u2019re lucky to have him and baserunners will have to beware when Armas is behind the dish at ISG Field!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires, and front office staff, over 270 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time All-Star and 2016 Roberto Clemente Award winner Curtis Granderson, three-time Cy Young Award winner and World Series Champion Max Scherzer (LAD), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist and Brandon Crawford (SFG) and World Series Champion Chris Sale (BOS). As well as 2019 Rookie of the Year and 2019\/2021 Home Run Derby Champion Pete Alonso (NYM) and 2021 All-Star, MLB Gold Glove finalist and 2019 Second Team All-MLB shortstop Marcus Semien (TOR).
