DIAZ, DIETZ TO PLAY FOR MINOT HONEYBEES IN 2024 SEASON<\/b><\/p>\n
Southern Virginia Infielder, Colorado Christian Infielder will Play in Team\u2019s First Season<\/b><\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n MINOT, ND \u2013<\/b> Following the conclusion of the team\u2019s first games, the Minot Honeybees softball team announces the final additions to their roster for their historic debut 2024 summer season, with Ariana Diaz and Skyler Dietz joining the beehive.<\/span><\/p>\n Diaz, a native of the Honeybees\u2019 own Minot, North Dakota, is returning home for the summer following her freshman season with the Southern Virginia Knights softball team. In her first year with the Knights, Diaz appeared in four games with five total at bats. She has scored one run and one sacrifice hit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In the infield, Diaz has recorded five putouts and one assist. She has only committed one error for a fielding percentage of .857.<\/span>Diaz attended Minot High School Magic City Campus where she played for the varsity softball team. In addition to playing for Minot High, she also played for the Minot Storm Fastpitch club team. Diaz\u2019s athletic ability extends beyond just softball, as she has also played hockey, volleyball, basketball, and bowling.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m most looking forward to getting to know my teammates and getting better ahead of the spring season,\u201d Diaz said. \u201cMy goal for the summer is to improve as much as I can.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n After a successful recruitment and commitment in the spring of 2022, Dietz joined the Colorado Christian University Cougars. Although she was unable to compete in the 2024 season, she had a very successful freshman season. She appeared in 28 games in the 2023 season with 23 total at bats. She scored nine runs, including one home run, and ended the season with an RBI of five. On the defensive side, she recorded one putout and no errors.<\/span><\/p>\n As a member of the Cougars team, Dietz made appearances at the South Central Regional Tournament and was a runner up for the RMAC Tournament in 2024. The season prior, the Cougars were South Central Regionals finalists, earned an RMAC Tournament Title, and were the RMAC Regular Season Champions for 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n Dietz played 21 games at Buhach Colony High School in her hometown of Atwood, California. She maintained a batting average of .400, totaling 23 runs, four RBI, seven doubles, four triples, and one homerun. She held an on-base percentage of .475. Defensively, she registered 69 putouts with eight assists. She only committed four errors. She was a triple-threat athlete in high school, also playing basketball and volleyball.
