Stigler, Boos Play in First Honeybees Games Halfway Through the Season<\/b><\/p>\n

MINOT, ND \u2013<\/b> Two new Honeybees have joined the Hive for the latter half of the softball team\u2019s inaugural season. Shortstop Abbie Stigler and pitcher Jenna Boos both joined the Bees in July, with first Stigler slotting into the 6 position in the Honeybees\u2019 July 4th away game against the Madison Night Mares and Boos coming in as a relief pitcher in the July 18th home game against the Mankato Habaneros.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Stigler, a sophomore, comes to the Bees from Saint Mary\u2019s University, where she has appeared \u2013 and started \u2013 in 82 games across her two years with the Cardinals. At the plate, she has maintained a career batting average of .282 with 60 hits across 213 at bats and resulting in 47 total runs. She has hit 12 career doubles and two home runs. Defensively, she has achieved 115 career putouts and 157 assists, maintaining a fielding percentage of .898. In the past season, Stigler was named to the CSC Academic All-District team. In high school, she was named the Woodland East Conference Player of the Year.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin native played her first game with the Honeybees just before the halfway mark in the season, first appearing in an away game loss to the Madison Night Mares on July 4th. In spite of the game\u2019s eventual outcome, Stigler had a strong showing at the plate in her first game, batting .500 for the night. Since her debut, she has appeared in 20 games, often batting in the top third of the lineup. In the infield, she has recorded 27 putouts and 36 assists, resulting in a .900 fielding percentage.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Boos, a freshman from St. Cloud Technical and Community College, is the most recent addition to the Bees roster and joins the bullpen as the team\u2019s only left-handed pitcher. In her first season at St. Cloud TCC, she played in 37 total games, and at the plate, she delivered on an impressive 34 runs, seven of which were home runs. She recorded 31 hits, with five being doubles and one being a triple. With an RBI of 30, Boos held a batting average of .320. In the pitching circle, Boos pitched 21 complete games, resulting in 11 wins. Across her 126.0 innings pitched, she\u2019s pitched two shutouts, struck out 118 batters, and held an ERA of 4.50. Boos was named to the MCAC All-Division South team and the All-MCAC team and was named 2024 South Division Softball Player-of-the-Year.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Hailing from Cold Spring, Minnesota, Boos appeared in her first Honeybees game on July 18th against the top-ranked Mankato Habaneros, relieving pitcher Kierra Fournier in the 4th inning. Boos pitched for the remaining innings of the game. Following her first appearance, Boos has pitched in five total games, all against the Night Mares or the Habaneros.
