What is the Reading Program?

The Minot Hot Tots don’t just love bringing FUN to the ballpark over summer, but we’re also dedicated to bringing FUN to the classroom with the Hot Tots Reading Program! The Hot Tots Reading Program presented by Farmers Union Insurance encourages students in Minot and surrounding areas to read. The more students read, the more opportunities they have to earn awesome prizes!

The Hot Tots Reading Program is completely FREE and will help students find a love for reading while being rewarded for hit those reading goals, out of the park!

LAST YEAR

Our goal last year was to get 4,000 students enrolled in our reading program. Minot Public Schools and some surrounding area schools MASHED that goal. We hit that goal in less than a week. Plus during the game on June 4th, we had almost 200 students out their having FUN and celebrating their home run ticket!

We can’t wait to help get even more students involved for 2024… so who is ready to READ!!!

How It Works

Teachers set their own reading goals for their classrooms. These goals can be based on books completed, pages read, time spent reading etc. It’s completely up to you!

• Each time a student completes one of their goals, they’ll be awarded a prize! If a student hits a homerun, they get the chance to attend a Minot Hot Tots game THIS summer for free!
• Each school will receive a FUN and exciting video to kick-off the reading program. The video explains how the reading program works and gets students ready to read! Select schools can even choose to host a Reading Program assembly for their students.
• A Hot Tots representative will follow up with any additional information.
