Minot Hot Tots Report in Local Economic Impact<\/b><\/p>\n

The team added new jobs to the North Dakota workforce, increased travel to Minot, increased local spending, and engaged the community with fun summer entertainment.<\/b><\/p>\n

Minot, ND<\/b> – The Minot Hot Tots share the yearly impact on the Minot economy including employment, attendance, local spending and more.<\/span><\/p>\n

Emerging Employment in Minot<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

In 2023, the Hot Tots emerged with a front office of 6 full-time staff members who now call Minot home after moving from outside the community for their respective positions.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, the Hot Tots employed 79 individuals during the season. All of the gameday staff were new to the workforce and 20% chose the Hot Tots to be their first job in the summer of 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n

The team\u2019s internship program offered 19 students the opportunity to receive college credit in their field of study. Interns gained hands-on educational experience in areas including operations, sponsorship, media, and tickets. All but three of those 19 interns moved from out-of-state, choosing Minot as their home for the duration of their internship. These individuals moved from Minnesota, Virginia, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, California, Massachusetts, Louisiana and New Jersey.<\/span><\/p>\n

The team also had a total of 55 Hot Tots players, 3 coaches, approximately 300 visiting players, 30 visiting coaches, and 36 umpires come to North Dakota between May and August 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fans Were \u201cHot for the Tots\u201d at Corbett Field<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The Hot Tots sold 28,303 tickets to Hot Tots games this summer at Corbett Field. The team had a wide connection with 3,285 tickets purchased by fans outside of the Minot area, including 109 of those from our neighbors up North in Canada. <\/span><\/p>\n

Baseball fans from 32 states and three provinces of Canada traveled to Minot to watch at least one game, helping to support the Minot tourism industry. <\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, the Hot Tots, along with their sponsors, hosted numerous free, family events at the ballpark including the STEM Expo, Movie Night, Youth Baseball Camps, and the Jersey Food Drive as well as with multiple events in the community including the Tot Wheels unveiling, Season Kickoff Event, and Oil Change Parties.<\/span><\/p>\n

Minot and North Dakota were also highly visible on television this year with 13 games on ESPN+ resulting in 59,200 unique viewers, and one game on ESPNU. KMOT-TV also televised 2 games on NBC across the state of North Dakota.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tots Love Local<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The Hot Tots also contributed to the Minot economy by choosing local food and beverage vendors and companies to serve in their three all-inclusive buffet areas, as well as their concession stand. The Hot Tots are fortunate to partner with 7\/S Beef, Atypical Brewery and Barrelworks, Northern Bottling Company, Magic City Beverage Co, and Morelli’s Distributing Inc.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Hot Tots also patronized local businesses for team related expenses, such as North Country Sportswear, Sign Co, Game One, Creative Property Management, Advanced Business Methods, SRT, Trinity Health Athletic Trainers, Westlie Ford, Hotel Revel, and many more. <\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, the Hot Tots helped generate traffic to multiple local businesses through unique fan sponsor promotions. This included the Scheels Camo Hat Giveaway, Oil Change Party with Trusted Tire & Auto\/Valvoline Instant Oil Change, Sports on Tap Pint Glass Promotion, McDonald\u2019s Friends and Family Deal, Secret Envelope and Baseball Card Promotions with Applebee\u2019s and Noodles and Company, and the Bearscat Double Donut Promotion. <\/span><\/p>\n

Community Impact and Programs<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The Hot Tots core mission is using FUN to make a difference in the lives of our fans and the Minot community. This season marked a great benchmark for future community impact.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Hot Tots Reading Program powered by Farmers Union Insurance encouraged more than 4,000 students across 17 North Dakota schools to reach their reading goals. The Hot Tots spent over $2,200 providing posters and prizes to students for accomplishing their reading goals along with complimentary tickets and experiences from partners like Planet Pizza and Roosevelt Park Zoo.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Jersey Food Drive powered by Farmers Union Insurance collected 3,078 pounds of food for The Lord\u2019s Cupboard. This totaled up to approximately 2,300 meals.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the help of the generous Minot community, the Hot Tots helped raise more than $52,708<\/span> to community organizations and nonprofits alike during the 2023 season. This was generated through silent auction donations, First International Bank and Trust Miracle Minutes, 50\/50 raffles, special events, charity jersey auctions, and more. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Minot Hot Tots and Northwoods League Baseball will continue to strengthen the local Minot economy and community, as well as increase the quality of life for people in Minot as they enter the 2024 season presented by Farmers Union Insurance. <\/span><\/p>\n
