TWO MORE PITCHING PROSPECTS JOINING THE TOTS<\/b><\/h2>\n

You can never have enough arms to get through a Northwoods League season. The Minot Hot Tots have added two more to their arsenal with plenty of NWL experience. Today\u2019s <\/span>Acme and Kubota Tools on the Field<\/b> will make their presence felt on the mound.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kahler Key, Right-Handed Pitcher, St. Cloud State University<\/b><\/p>\n

Northwoods League ballplayers come from all corners of the country and even the world. Kahler Key has kept his talents smack-dab in the middle of Northwoods League territory. The senior from Onalaska, Wisconsin spends his springs in St. Cloud, Minnesota and his summers in Minot. For the second year in a row, Key will be part of the Hot Tots\u2019 starting pitcher rotation.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his first year in Minot, Key started seven games for the Tots, going 2-4 with a 7.09 ERA over 33.0 innings. Key\u2019s brightest moments came in the Dakota Dust-Up rivalry games against the Bismarck Larks. Against the Larks, Key allowed four runs in 16.0 innings and struck out 11.<\/span><\/p>\n

At St. Cloud State, Key has pitched as both a starter and reliever for the Huskies. This season, his ERA has stayed under 4.00 and his strikeout number has climbed to a career-high 47.<\/span><\/p>\n

He will reunite for a third time with field manager Brian Lewis. He played for coach Lewis in 2023 with the St. Cloud Rox.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aidan Ewe, Right-Handed Pitcher, Barry University<\/b><\/p>\n

Another senior will be wrapping up his collegiate career with a summer in the \u2018Woods. Aidan Ewe has been a strikeout machine in two seasons at Barry University in Florida. This summer, he will be a big part of the Hot Tots bullpen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ewe, originally from Pitman, New Jersey, has recorded 32 strikeouts in 26.2 innings at the Division II level. A consistent relief option for the Buccaneers, Ewe has kept opposing hitters to a .181 batting average against.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Northwoods League is also nothing new for Ewe. Last summer he pitched for the league champion Green Bay Rockers. Ewe will make the move to the Great Plains Division this season after signing a senior contract with the Hot Tots.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
