OUTFIELD DEPTH ADDED IN LATEST GROUP OF SIGNINGS<\/b><\/h2>\n

Winning teams in the Northwoods League have a resemblance to each other: clubhouse leaders. The Minot Hot Tots have added two more <\/span>Acme and Kubota Tools on the Field<\/b> to their 2026 roster with proven ability at the collegiate level and the ability to lead the squad to further success.<\/span><\/p>\n

John Freitag, Outfielder, Villanova University<\/b><\/p>\n

From New York City to North Dakota, John Freitag continues his baseball travels with a summer in Minot. The Villanova sophomore joins the Hot Tots after another full spring of Big East Conference baseball.<\/span><\/p>\n

So far in the 2026 season, Freitag has been an everyday outfielder for the Villanova Wildcats, staying in the lineup as a contact hitter and fantastic defender. In just over 200 collegiate at-bats, Freitag has .257 average, .399 on-base percentage and 38 runs batted in. Over a ten-game stretch this spring, Freitag went 12-for-35 with five doubles, a home run and seven RBI. In the outfield, Freitag has a 1.000 fielding percentage with two outfield assists.<\/span><\/p>\n

Summer ball isn\u2019t new to Freitag either. Last year, he spent 15 games with the Saugerties Stallions of the Perfect Game Collegiate League in New York. He will make his Northwoods debut this season as a Minot Hot Tot.<\/span><\/p>\n

Caleb Gipson, Outfielder, Georgia Southwestern State University<\/b><\/p>\n

After a monster sophomore season at Cleveland State Community College, Caleb Gipson has now begun dominating Division II at Georgia Southwestern. The junior outfielder is hitting .318 and carries an .846 OPS. Following his first spring at GSW, Gipson will head north to Minot.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hailing from Columbia, South Carolina, Gipson went west to begin his collegiate career at Spartanburg Methodist. The following year, Gipson made a big jump at Cleveland State in Tennessee. In 51 games for the Cougars, Gipson hit .335 with five home runs and 40 RBI. Those numbers propelled Gipson up to a four-year spot at Georgia Southwestern.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gipson made an immediate impression with the Hurricanes to begin the 2026 season. He started the year 10-for-22 and recorded a hit in his first 12 games. The production was sustained throughout Gipson\u2019s junior year and now his consistent bat will be a part of the Hot Tots\u2019 lineup.<\/span><\/p>\n
