{"id":28863,"date":"2026-03-13T14:55:01","date_gmt":"2026-03-13T18:55:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/richmond-flying-mummies\/?p=28863"},"modified":"2026-03-13T14:55:01","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T18:55:01","slug":"mummies-unwrapped-georgetown-duo-ashton-seymore-and-jackson-thomas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/richmond-flying-mummies\/2026\/03\/13\/mummies-unwrapped-georgetown-duo-ashton-seymore-and-jackson-thomas\/","title":{"rendered":"Mummies Unwrapped: Georgetown Duo Ashton Seymore and Jackson Thomas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"254\" data-end=\"502\">The Richmond Flying Mummies continue unveiling talent for the upcoming season as part of the <strong data-start=\"347\" data-end=\"368\">Mummies Unwrapped<\/strong> series, this time welcoming a pair of players from <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Georgetown University<\/span><\/span> \u2014 <strong data-start=\"460\" data-end=\"478\">Ashton Seymore<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong data-start=\"483\" data-end=\"501\">Jackson Thomas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"7rv6j9\" data-start=\"504\" data-end=\"547\">Ashton Seymore | OF | Chicago, Illinois<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"549\" data-end=\"747\">Seymore arrives in Richmond after an outstanding prep career at the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Latin School of Chicago<\/span><\/span>, where he was a three-year starter and one of the most decorated players in program history.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"749\" data-end=\"1109\">The Chicago native served as team captain during his senior season and earned <strong data-start=\"827\" data-end=\"891\">ISL Baseball Player of the Year honors in both 2023 and 2024<\/strong>, while also being named the <strong data-start=\"920\" data-end=\"937\">2024 Team MVP<\/strong>. Seymore\u2019s strong senior campaign included a <strong data-start=\"983\" data-end=\"1007\">.488 batting average<\/strong>, helping lead Latin to continued success during one of the most dominant stretches in school history.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1111\" data-end=\"1358\">During Seymore\u2019s time with the program, Latin captured <strong data-start=\"1166\" data-end=\"1210\">ISL championships from 2021 through 2024<\/strong> and secured <strong data-start=\"1223\" data-end=\"1259\">regional titles in 2021 and 2022<\/strong>. His standout senior season also earned him a spot on the <strong data-start=\"1318\" data-end=\"1357\">2024 IHSBCA Class 2A All-State Team<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1360\" data-end=\"1511\">Seymore also etched his name into the school record books with the <strong data-start=\"1427\" data-end=\"1466\">longest home run in program history<\/strong>, launching a ball an estimated <strong data-start=\"1498\" data-end=\"1510\">450 feet<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1513\" data-end=\"1646\">In addition to baseball, Seymore was a multi-sport athlete at Latin, competing in soccer where he received a <strong data-start=\"1622\" data-end=\"1645\">sportsmanship award<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"9d7mh0\" data-start=\"1648\" data-end=\"1689\">Jackson Thomas | INF | Tampa, Florida<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1691\" data-end=\"1821\">Joining Seymore from Georgetown is <strong data-start=\"1726\" data-end=\"1744\">Jackson Thomas<\/strong>, an infielder from Tampa, Florida who brings a winning pedigree to Richmond.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1823\" data-end=\"2022\">Thomas was a two-year starter at <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Jesuit High School<\/span><\/span>, helping lead the program to the <strong data-start=\"1927\" data-end=\"1965\">2024 Florida 5A state championship<\/strong> in the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Florida High School Athletic Association<\/span><\/span> postseason.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2024\" data-end=\"2173\">The Tampa native also competed on the travel circuit with <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">5 Star Tampa<\/span><\/span>, gaining valuable experience against top competition.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2175\" data-end=\"2367\">With Seymore and Thomas joining the roster, the Flying Mummies continue to add talented young players with strong winning backgrounds as the team prepares for its inaugural season in Richmond.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Richmond Flying Mummies continue unveiling talent for the upcoming season as part of the Mummies Unwrapped series, this time  [&#8230;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":151,"featured_media":28864,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[31,1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-28863","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-team-news","category-uncategorized"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v26.5 (Yoast SEO v26.5) -
