Honkers add right-hander from the Sunshine State<\/em><\/p>\n

(Rochester, Minn.) \u2013 <\/strong>The Rochester Honkers have announced the signing of Chad Tworek, a junior from Keiser University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.<\/p>\n

Tworek is a 6-foot-5, 225-pound right-handed pitcher from Lake Worth, Fla.\u00a0 He pitched at Polk State College for his first two years of college baseball, finishing his sophomore season 3-2 with a 2.80 ERA.\u00a0 He made 20 appearances, pitching 45.0 innings and striking out 45.\u00a0 As a freshman, he went 7-1 with three saves.<\/p>\n

Tworek then moved on to Keiser University but due to formal eligibility requirements, he is unable to play this spring.\u00a0 Keiser University is currently 25-12, and under the pitching guidance of former Rochester Honker pitcher, Joey Housey.<\/p>\n

The Rochester Honkers 25th season begins on Tuesday, May 29th when the team hosts the Eau Claire Express in their home opener at Mayo Field at 7:05 pm. 5-Game Packs and Kids Club Memberships are available now!\u00a0 Season Tickets, \u00bd Season Plans, Suites and Patios are also available. The Rochester Honkers are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Entering its 25th anniversary season, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 20 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, 190 former Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist (CHC) and Brandon Crawford (SFG) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (BOS), Jordan Zimmermann (DET) and Curtis Granderson (TOR). \u00a0All league games are viewable live via the <\/em>Northwoods League portal<\/em><\/a>.
