Hardy continues to drive in runs.<\/em><\/p>\n

(Rochester Minn.)<\/strong> \u2013\u00a0It is exactly one week until opening day at Mayo Field and future Honkers are coming up on postseason plays. Here is a quick look at how some future Honkers performed.<\/p>\n

Hunter Spencer (LHP) \u2013 Bellarmine (38-19)
\n<\/strong>Hunter Spencer tossed a complete game gem to get Bellarmine a win in the NCAA Midwest Regional. Spencer allowed just one run on six hits and struck out six against 16th<\/sup> ranked Northwood University. This was the lefty\u2019s fourth complete game of the year and first since April 22. Spencer finished the season with a 3.66 ERA over 76 1\/3 innings of work. He struck out 58 and compiled a 7-2 record.<\/p>\n

Michael Michalak (INF) \u2013 Illinois (31-18)
\n<\/strong>Michael Michalak was seeing the ball well in Illinois last regular season series of the year. Illinois took two out of three games from Nebraska as Michalak hit .454 and scored three runs. The Rochester native finished the regular season hitting .285, had 15 RBIs, and scored 21 runs. Michalak is riding a four-game hitting streak in to the Big Ten Tournament, Illinois earned the No. 4 seed and will take on Indiana Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Jaylon McLaughlin (INF) \u2013 Nevada (29-22)
\n<\/strong>Jaylon McLaughlin made two starts for Nevada in their last series of the year against San Diego State. McLaughlin hit .285, drove in two runs, scored a run and stole a base for the Wolf Pack. McLaughlin finished the regular season hitting .255, drove in eight runs, 13 runs scored and six stolen bases. Nevada won the Mountain West Conference and takes on UNLV in the first round of the conference tournament on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Christian Robinson (OF) \u2013 Stanford (43-8)
\n<\/strong>Christian Robinson played a big part in No. 3 ranked Stanford\u2019s sweep of Washington State. The freshman hit .333, scored two runs and had a double. Robinson has played in 21 games hitting .266, with eight doubles and 16 RBIs. Stanford can clinch a Pac-12 conference title by defeating Washington once during their three-game set beginning Thursday at Washington.<\/p>\n

Pete\u2019s Pick of The Week<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Matt Hardy (OF) \u2013 UC Riverside (19-30)
\n<\/strong>Matt Hardy has been driving in runs all year for the Highlanders and this past series against UC Irvine was more of the same. In the three-game set, Hardy drove in four runs while hitting .333 and scoring a run. He now is second on the team with 31 RBIs, third in batting average with .306 and home runs with four. UC Riverside plays their last series beginning Thursday hosting Cal Poly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
