Duluth scored the first run of the game on a throwing error from Michael Brown (Washington). Their next two runs scored on RBI groundouts from Devin Hurdle (Nebraska Omaha) and Cam Frederick (Nebraska Omaha).<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Rochester was held scoreless through the first five innings but broke out in a huge way in the sixth and seventh. The Honkers took the lead with a four run sixth. After a bases loaded hit by pitch, Brendan O\u2019Sullivan (Delta College) tied the game with a two run single. The very next batter, Dario Gomez (Nevada), gave Rochester the lead with a run scoring single.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In the seventh the Honkers added five more runs to blow the game open. The big hits in the inning were an RBI single from Kyle Whitaker (Patrick Henry CC), a Brendan O\u2019Sullivan run scoring double and Dario Gomez RBI single. With four runs in the sixth and five in the seventh the Honkers turned a 3-0 deficit into a 9-3 lead.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>With the win the Honkers improve to 12-13 in the second half.
