{"id":16150,"date":"2023-12-11T08:02:20","date_gmt":"2023-12-11T14:02:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/rochester-honkers\/?p=16150"},"modified":"2023-12-11T08:02:20","modified_gmt":"2023-12-11T14:02:20","slug":"honkers-announce-new-general-manager","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/rochester-honkers\/2023\/12\/11\/honkers-announce-new-general-manager\/","title":{"rendered":"Honkers Announce New General Manager"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Rochester Honkers have announced that Clint Narramore has been promoted to the position of General Manager.\u00a0 He will take the reigns effective immediately.<\/p>\n<p>For Narramore, he has been the team&#8217;s Assistant GM since 2022.\u00a0 Prior to that, he served as the Assistant GM for the Fayetteville SwampDogs of the Coastal Plain League until 2019.\u00a0 Narramore was also the Official Scorer for the Honkers in 2021<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For me, this is an amazing opportunity.\u00a0 I have to start by thanking everyone who helped me get to where I am.\u00a0 I could not have gotten to this place without a lot of support from wonderful people.\u00a0 This is my fourth overall season in Rochester and I look forward to being here for a long time.\u00a0 As an organization, we are going to keep the standard that we have set over the last few years of affordable family entertainment,&#8221; Narramore said.<\/p>\n<p>The Honkers will announce their schedule in the next couple of days, as they prepare for their 31st season.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Northwoods League is the proven leader in the development of elite college baseball players. Having completed its\u2019 30th season, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 26 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires, and front office staff, 340 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time All-Star and 2016 Roberto Clemente Award winner Curtis Granderson, three-time Cy Young Award winner and two-time World Series Champion Max Scherzer (TEX), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist and Brandon Crawford (SFG) and World Series Champion Chris Sale (BOS). As well as 2019 Rookie of the Year and 2019\/2021 Home Run Derby Champion Pete Alonso (NYM) and 2023 World Series Champion, 2021 All-Star, MLB Gold Glove and Silver Slugger winner and 2019 Second Team All-MLB shortstop Marcus Semien (TEX).
