Mattie Thomas &#8212; who was the inspiration for mustache day &#8212; came to the plate and sent a ball off the apartment complex in right field.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rochester added two more in the fourth inning, thanks in part to Dom Rodriguez\u2019s solo home run. He went 4\/5 with three other singles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Reiss Calvin came up next and hit a double into the gap. He then stole third and the throw went into left field, allowing him to score the sixth run of the day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cade Cushing had a stellar outing, going six innings and allowing just two runs. He struck out a season-high 11 hitters and walked just three.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Josiah Granados entered with the bases loaded and two outs in the eighth. He struck out Case Sanderson, then slammed the door on La Crosse in the ninth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With this win, Rochester moved to 4-1 in the second half. They will play in Eau Claire tomorrow, the first pitch is at 6:35.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Rochester Honkers are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. The Northwoods League is the proven leader in the development of elite college baseball players. Entering its\u2019 31st season, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 26 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires, and front office staff, over 350 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time All-Star and 2016 Roberto Clemente Award winner Curtis Granderson, three-time Cy Young Award winner and World Series Champion Max Scherzer (TEX), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist and Brandon Crawford (STL) and World Series Champion Chris Sale (ATL). As well as 2019 Rookie of the Year and 2019\/2021 Home Run Derby Champion Pete Alonso (NYM) and 2023 World Series Champion, 2021 and 2023 All-Star, MLB Gold Glove winner and two-time All-MLB first team shortstop Marcus Semien (TEX).
