Thunder Bay pulled off a comeback win 7-6.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rochester took an early lead thanks to Andrew Cain\u2019s first-inning, three-run homer to right. They added three more in the sixth courtesy of a bases-loaded walk, RBI groundout and an error.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Draven Nushida had a multi-hit game going 2\/4.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Joe Sperry came out of the bullpen and tossed 3.1 innings of shutout ball, keeping the Honkers in the game. However, they ended up coming just short.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With this loss, Rochester is now 9-4 in the second half and tied for the lead in the East. They will play one more in Thunder Bay before coming home to host Eau Claire.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Rochester Honkers are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires, and front office staff, over 350 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time All-Star and 2016 Roberto Clemente Award winner Curtis Granderson, three-time Cy Young Award winner and World Series Champion Max Scherzer (TEX), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist and Brandon Crawford (STL) and World Series Champion Chris Sale (ATL). As well as 2019 Rookie of the Year and 2019\/2021 Home Run Derby Champion Pete Alonso (NYM) and 2023 World Series Champion, 2021 and 2023 All-Star, MLB Gold Glove winner and two-time All-MLB first team shortstop Marcus Semien (TEX).
